not so BLECH/Happy New Year!!!!

So, today is a better day than yesterday, PRAISE GOD! I've come to the conclusion that on this last Friday in 2005--um, excuse me WHERE did the time go???--I'm going to decide, like I've HAD to do all year, to be happy! So, today I'm not SO BLECH! I'm pretty ok. I just came from lunch with my dad. I requested a "Dad & Tonyette" only lunch! Just because! It was good! We talked and I told him that it's all his fault that my life is so tough! LOL! Calm down! Before all you readers are like, "MY GOD, SHE DID WHAT?" I told him that I am 26 and life is tough and that he didn't tell me it would be! (I told my mother the same thing a few weeks ago!) It was nice! But I'm back here (at work, SHEESH!) trying to make this deadline for my team leader! I think I MIGHT be able to have something to give him by the end of the day! Gracious! But thank God for a job!

Also, before I forget, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Wow, it's almost 2006! I can't believe it! Whatever you do, be safe! and remember to thank God for one more year!!! As long as we live, as long as we are here on Earth, we have one more chance to make it--"it" being whatever--right! We have another opportunity to do what it is we are supposed to be doing! Go into 2006 with a plan of action!! I know that's what I will be doing, wherever I decide to go!

You ever have one of those days? You know, those days were you wake up and you feel ok. Not great or piss poor, but ok. Like you can at least face the day without any mood-enhancing drugs (prescribed or not, your choice!) and you're ok with being "ok" because hey, you could be worse. But then as the day progresses, it just gets worse and worse! Well today, for me, is one of those days! To today, I say BLECH! I'm ready to go home and NOTHING for the next couple of hours! I don't want to be here at work. I will probably be bored at home. I don't feel like going out (because I don't really have any money) and it's rainy anyway! I won't feel like doing housework! I feel another BLECH coming on! BLECHHH! People keep asking me what I'm doing for New Year's Eve. I could go to church, but don't want to. I don't especially want to be home doing nothing but then again I'm not trying to be partying too hearty on NYE either! BLECH! Hey, maybe something will happen later that will cause my day to begin looking up. I don't know what could change that,'s to HOPE!

ANTM Cycle 5 Reunion

So, ok, last night I decided to watch the "where are they now" episode of ANTM for the most recent cycle! WHY did I do it? First of all, Tyra is so excited about her new talk show that she decided to have the reunion episode on the set of the Tyra Show! Um, BOOOOOOOO!!!!!! Like I said, I was expecting this to be like a "where are they now" type of show. but it was more like the Real World Reunion shows! I didn't really like that! Instead of just following the girls & seeing what they are doing now, Tyra decides to talk about their feelings since seeing the show and CRAP like that! Get outta here! It was SO wack! And I was even FURTHER upset about the fact that Nicole won! BOOOOOOO! I still cannot believe that she won! Ugh! She's high fashion? Really? Wow! I will say that seeing this show did, however, make me like Coryn more! LOL! She's funny! But maybe that's because I like ignorant stuff! But she's still very masculine looking! It's actually unbelievable! Oh well, I'm talking all this smack and I just KNOW that when the next Cycle starts up, I'll be right there watching!! Especially if the two sexiest-but-so-unavailable-to-me men are on there! Nigel is just yummy! 'Nuff said! But he's married so, he's obviously off limits! and I think that Jay Manuel aka Mr. Jay is cute!! But the platinum hair, eyeliner and shirts that look like they come from Express--NOT the one for men--tell me that he's off-limits to me as well! So, I think that the reason I watch ANTM is the same reason I loved Laguna Beach. Because so many times I watch, I'm like UGH, are you SERIOUS?
One last thing, Kristin Cavallari (from LB) will be co-hosting a show on Fox starting in January. And she was Punk'd! Um...was Laguna Beach that popular, that she became a celeb? Wow, didn't know!

Thought I had lots to say

A few times in the past few days, I really felt like I had something to say. I wanted to hurry here and post, but it seems I always got distracted! I'll try to remember and give sub-headings. for some reason, I think this will be a long one!

The Tyra Show
Um...Tyra Banks has a talk show? Now, I think she's COOL and all, but just COOL! I mean, would I watch her talk to guests for a hour? Doubtful! I keep trying to watch a whole hour but it never seems to happen! First of all, the topics she has, give me a break! And the runway...I mean, I GUESS that's cute but, um, no thanks! Oh, now I remember WHY I wanted to comment on the Tyra Show. Was ATTEMPTING to support her once again, and Vivica A. Fox came on there! I should have started boycotting her FROM THAT ALONE! So, I'm watching and Vivica's STILL talking about "Curtis" (aka 50 Cent!) PLEASE, Vivica, HONEY, let it go! She was talking about how she had to listen to "Strength, Courage and Wisdom" over and over to allow herself to become strong enough to never again do what she did with him. (whatever that meant!) Um, I'm not 50's number one fan or anything like but. I mean, he's cool! But seriously, Ms. Fox, LET IT GO! I'm pretty sure that he has! And it was actually YEARS ago! Wow! If I were still BITTER from a breakup and famous, I'd hope that my pride would SNATCH the better of me and not allow me to show my bittnerness on every possible medium! She's just the worst! I really am NOT a fan of hers! Never really was, but now it's just spilling over into disgust!

Speaking of that DANG Tyra Banks...let's discuss America's Next Top Model. Um, Nicole? Seriously?? Nicole! She was the best this cycle had to offer? She was better than Bre? Um, I would have preferred Kim over Nicole! I would have even taken Coryn! This should show you how AGAINST Nicole I am! Ok, so that Coryn business was just a cry of desperation, but...seriously, Nicole? I don't think so! I didn't see the last episode, but I'm glad that I didn't because I would have been ANGRY! So...the list of ANTM winners is: Adrienne, Yoanna, Eva, Naima and now Nicole? Sheesh! Why do I even continue to watch this stuff? I should have just TURNED OFF the TV after Adrienne won!

MTB3 (Warning...if you watched Making the Band season 3 but you haven't learned who's in the band, you might wanna skip past this next blurb!)
So, I was outraged TWICE last week! Well, not so much outraged as shocked! First, Nicole then SHANNON! What??? Ok, so the band is Dawn--duh, Aubrey--duh, Aundrea--um, ok, I figured that, Wanita--this was kind of a shock, but sure!, and SHANNON! Seriously, that one threw me off. I couldn't even REMEMBER who she was from the last daggone episode! But other people seem to be ok with this choice (my sister, my dance ministry leader--who LOVED the show. Her entire FAMILY loved the show. She, her daughter AND her husband all watched it!) So I need to re-watch this episode and try to get a better understanding! Because I was QUITE surprised by this choice! Also, I'm so happy that Dominique DIDN'T make it!! It would have been a dumb fit! It would have been the same effect of having Alicia Keys join Destiny's Child. (not necessarily on the same level but the same result!)

Ok, I think that's it for now! If I think of anything else, I'll post again!

Anyone who really knows me, knows that I LOVE me some Mary J. Blige! Well, I was one of the sad ones who was almost upset because she got so happy and drama-free! Dang, where were the songs like "My Life" and "Reminisce" and "I'm Going Down"? But...tonight (for the third night in a row!) I'm up past 1am. I decided to turn on BET After Dark! I really like watching this show because for the most part, there are no FOOLISH videos or songs on here! Plus, everything is mellow! Good show, BET! (for a change! to me, best show since Midnight Love...the OLD Midnight Love!) So the first video tonight/this morning was Mary J.'s new video. Maybe it's called "Can't be without you" & the video features Terrence Howard! I already kind of liked the song, but seeing the video just solidified it for me! I really hope that everyone agrees with me that Mary may be BACK behind this one!! Ok, besides the fact that these days, Mary ALWAYS looks (at awards shows) like she wasn't sure of why she accepted the invitation, I LOVE her forever!! And I hope this--CD, Breakthrough--is the one to bring her back!

I'm so thankful!!!!!!!!!!

So, it's Saturday and Thanksgiving was Thursday. Ok, aside from the WONDERFUL food and FANTASTIC desserts, I was really happy Thursday, just to be alive and well to see another Turkey Day. I had a house to wake up in, a family to eat with and a car to drive me from place to place! So, Thursday, I was grateful!

But two things have happened since Thanksgiving day that have made me more than grateful. I've since realized that I'm BLESSED and for that, I'm forever appreciative!
First, yesterday, I was off work--woke up dizzy and kept drifting in and out of sleep--so one of the few hours that I was actually woke, I watched MTV's True Life: I'm Dead Broke. WOW! It followed three young people: DeMarlon, 21; Alexa, 18; Sandra 22. All three were struggling to deal with poverty! To see people who have literally half (or less) than what I have, but still are willing to fight to make it really moved me. I mean, I was crying and everything!! The guy DeMarlon was determined to help his family (his mom, dad & siblings). Alexa wanted to really get her diploma and a car--though she did have to end up going back home. She had moved out of town in order to better herself. Sandra (and her boyfriend) did what they had to do to get a new place to live. Also, they both eventually found good, steady, full-time jobs! I just kept saying "God I thank YOU!" as I watched because I really don't have "real" reason to complain!! The second thing happened today. My church has an outreach where once a month one or two ministries take food, clothes and/or toiletries down to the Oasis (near Fallsway) Men's Shelter. We also pray with any of the men who want it. I'd gone once before so I kind of knew what to expect. It's always an eye-opener because the men (for the most part) aren't what you'd expect. They aren't just some crazy drunks or junkies. They are men who are "down on their luck" a lot of times. Each time I go, there is one who is my age or a little younger. And I listen to their stories and I'm like "God I thank you!!" because with a few wrong decisions, it could have easily been me on the street!

Sometimes we need something to wake us up & remind us that no matter what our problems are, they could ALWAYS be worse! So, right now, I'm very appreciative...of ALL that I have and all the things I don't have to worry about! I'm glad that the struggles I do suffer are not for mere survival. I am glad for the "little things" these days and I hope that I'll always remember this year's Thanksgiving and Thanksgiving weekend!

It's almost Thanksgiving...

In years past--especially my college years--as soon as summer was over, I'd be on a countdown to Thanksgiving! This year, not so! Today is Tuesday & Thursday is Thanksgiving, but I'm rather un-excited! When I was at UMES, I'd be like "only 2 months and 16 days until I get to EAT REAL FOOD!" But this year, I'm like "it's whatever!" I wonder what that's about. Is it because I'm getting older? Is it because this year was rather tough and I couldn't even think as far as the next week, let alone months? Hmm...either way, thinking about my mother's cornbread stuffing, I think I can get a little excited now!

My young boyfriends!

I am watching the Vibe awards right now! (they are SO INCREDIBLY WACK that it actually hurts my feelings but I continue to watch, so what does that say about me!) So, anyway, Kyla Pratt and Robert Ri'chard were presenting! Um HELLO to Robert Ri'chard! He's definitely a yummy young thing! So I was like, "you know, I need to post my young boyfriends' list!"

In order to qualify as a "young boyfriend" the young fellow in question must be at least 18 (not trying to be Roberta Kelly or anything like that!) but is at least 3 years younger than I.
I don't think I have a number one. There are so many YOUNG fine guys that it's actually making me UPSET because I'm like, will I have to marry younger? It's looking like a YES!
Ok, here goes:
  • Omarion: my goodness. He's just the sexiest little thing out there! (If I had to choose a number one, it would probably be him. EXCEPT that he has baby hair! My goodness! Hopefully now that's he's 21--his b-day was 3 days ago and YES I am serious!--he's going to let that junk go!!
  • Robert Ri'chard: whoo, another young yummy. Now that he's actually playing almost adult roles, I feel a little better about finding him attractive
  • Rob Brown: (he "found" Forrester and was in Coach Carter, in case you are like WHO?) nothing's better than a chocolate brown brother!
  • Bow Wow: now, I must admit that I've thought he was cute forever. but since he was like 14 and I was like 21, I'd try to be one of those "he'll be cute when he gets older" women! LOL!
  • Percy Daggs III (didn't know his name until I just looked it up!) He's the cutie on Veronica Mars (and the Nestle Crunch commercials with Shaq.) Ok, so I only saw Veronica Mars once, but for him, I'll be sure to watch again! (plus, I do like Kristen Bell!) I think he's the oldest one on this list, at 23-years-old! Wow, sad! But I don't care!

I think this is it, at least for now! I can always go back and make an addendum!

Cars that go boom...

Yep, so me BEING me, I did the research b/c I couldn't remember the group name of Tigra and Bunny! They were called L'Trimm! Wow, their two "hits" were Grab It...and the aforementioned song! LOL! I remember first of all that I used to think they were wack, even back then!!! I found out that the first album (with the two known songs) was released in 1988, so I was like 9. So for me to think they were wack in the 80s, they MUST have been wack! Ugh! I remember I used to always imitate the "we're Tigra...and Bunny...and we like the boom!" part for laughs! Did anyone know that they released 3 albums? Wow!

Dear Western

This post is SUCH a copy of my friend Toya's post about our high school, Western!
There are some pretty interesting characters that I came across and the funny part is that those people were PAID to be there! Of course I'm referring to the teachers!
Here are a few of my most/least favorite ones:

(9th grade)
Mr. Gogel: my algebra teacher. He was just funny. First of all, he KNOWS he was the dang Oriole bird but I guess he was supposed to keep the identity of the O's bird a secret. So whenever we asked, he always gave the dumbest answers! Even after we SAW HIM in a freakin' commercial! And I didn't like him because I guess I wasn't prepared enough for math (coming from CALVERTON) so when he asked for questions and I said I didn't understand things, he'd say "that's not a question!" Duh, OBVIOUSLY it's not a FREAKIN' question but I don't understand!" Plus he was just quirky and it was kind of funny!

My English teacher: it's actually funny now but I don't remember his name. He was a White guy probably in his thirties. I think we were his last class because I don't remember him being there after I had him. I guess he was really comfortable with us and we with him because I remember he said something smart to me and I responded "well maybe if you learned to iron" because he had on the most wrinkled khakis in, like, history! Plus, I think he liked my friend Iris and I was like, "CHILL on the jungle fever AND the statuatory rape case!" He was just always getting smart and thought he was funny and I was like, uh, hello, you're not! But he was actually pretty cool, for a teacher!

Mr. Baker: my ancient history teacher. Actually his class was cool, but he had one thing that I didn't like. He used to say that he didn't want us to be too comfortable and fall asleep because he knew that history was a boring subject to some. So he opened the window and turned on the fans, even in the winter! Wow! If he's still there, I really HOPE he doesn't do that anymore!

(10th grade)
Um, no one sticks out so I'll skip over 10th grade!
Wait, just remembered someone, Ms. Windhaus! Yes! How could I forget! My goodness!! There is MUCH to say about her! My English teacher. Wow, she was interesting! First of all, at the time that I had her, Bill Clinton was president! She LOVED this man! I mean, it was unbelievable to me how much one could OBSESS over another person, and at the time I marveled at how a Black woman could be like that over a White man.--Hey I was 15 and didn't know things yet!!--She was very, uh, serious about her class and about things were done. We watched Lord of the Flies and she passed out permission slips and the one girl whose mother was TOO DEEP and didn't sign had to leave the classroom while we watched! Wow, the movie WASN'T that serious! One of my favorite (and by favorite, I mean MOST FEARED) classroom activities in Ms. Windhaus' class was the "impromptu speeches." Sheesh! Basically, everyone in the class was assigned a number. My last name is Bethea so I was probably like number 4, let's say. Well every time we had class, at the very beginning, or maybe sometimes the end, she'd have someone pick a number out of a hat or whatever. So, when your number was called (once the number was chosen she'd tell us whose name corresponded) you had to give a speech. Yikes! It was something I dreaded! She was also the faculty advisor to the Sisters for Black Awareness Club and during the meetings my senior year, when he was running again, she'd wear TWO "Vote for Clinton" buttons! (my favorite memory of her class...when I was too ashamed of a paper I wrote so I handed it in 4 days late, and only then because my friend Yalonda made me. my grade on the paper...a whooping FORTY!)

(11th grade)
Mr. Evans: my algebra 2 teacher. Wow, this tall White man who was really RED and who claimed to LOVE hip hop and R & B, was so funny it was ridiculous! He called us all by our last names, so the roll call was always "Beasley...Bethea..." etc and whenever he did call on us, it was the same thing! One song that he referenced quite often was "Cars that go boom" by uh...Tigra and Bunny, I don't remember their group name! they had 2 songs though and the videos came on the Jukebox. (he even had my friend Toya sing it for a grade! PLEASE go take a look at her blog and the entry is called "Westward, Ho!" That's the name of our yearbook, so DON'T joke it!) He'd always be like "Tigra and Bunny" and make this crazy face! And he was always like "ya know, ya know". When he called on you, it was with the index and middle fingers on both hands pointed! Wow! He was SUCH a funny one!

Mr. Gerhard: (again please see Toya's blog but if you are too lazy, then I'll just describe him here for you) this was my U.S. history teacher. (I also had him the next year for Teacher Prep.) He was the GREATEST! First, his appearance! He took the whole monochromatic thing to the EXTREME! He'd dress from HEAD TO FOOT in one color. (well, sometimes he'd branch out and do 2, but it was always just hues of the same color red and burgundy) He'd wear the same color shirt, and sometimes sweater, pants and shoes AND PLASTIC COMB in the back pocket of his pants. Oh no wait, and he usually wore RINGS that had jewels to match as well! One of my favorite outfits was the yellow one! I was quite fond of the blue (light blue!) one as well! He confused me because I used to think he was gay but he mentioned his "lady friend" often and had all these sexual innuendos and double entendres that he always wanted to involve us in! But the man was the BEST! I actually enjoyed US history and Teacher Prep, so...he did something right!

(12th grade)
Last and DEFINITELY not least is Mr. Rey! Oh yes! Yet another English teacher. You know, my English teachers at Western were very special! (in 11th grade, I has, Ms. something with a B. She looked like a Smurf and I thought she was QUITE boring. She was my most boring English teacher, till this very day, actually! But back to Mr. Rey!
Mr. Rey was so many things wrapped into one. He was funny and cool and HARSH (grades-wise) all in one. He pronounced all "S" words and sounds with this extra hissing, so it was like he'd say a story was "exssssciting" and he'd ask "wasn't that sssssensual?" (he seemed to think a lot of things were sensual and sexy!) He gave us the BEST vocabulary words, that we had to use in sentences! (Meretricious, anyone?) Yes! and he graded with such severity that I still, to this day, wonder how I managed to even PASS his class. If you had one subject verb disagreement, it was an automatic C! then, in the 4th quarter (because by then you should have known better!) it was an automatic D! Best believe that I did get SOME Cs and a D during the course of that school year! My proudest moment, getting a B on my exegesis of this WACK poem! (some trash about a sad girl or some junk!) So UMES folks, THAT is why I was able to get As on all Ms. Anderson's papers freshman year. I'd gotten so many Cs & Ds from Mr. Rey that I wanted to NEVER have that feeling again!

That's probably enough so I'll stop there!

Season finale

Uh, yeah, Laguna Beach's season finale was tonight. Um, it was pretty cool; the different kids were leaving for school and whatnot. Um, ok. Tears and hugs and whatever! It was a cool episode and the Most Unworthy Wench was actually showing emotion!! I guess she was sad to be leaving home and all that! At the end of the episode, they showed LC on TRL. She announced that their was a surprise: a season three. Wow, how thrilled was I UNTIL they showed a preview of the new season. Yeah, about that...BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! The new cast is WACK! It's season 2's juniors and the only one we know is Cami, who we saw for like 2 seconds when she was Jason's DISSED prom date! LOL! What? OH, but they did show my young boyfriend, Talan, so I will be at least trying to snatch PEEKS at the show every now and again!
Also, they have another show called "The Hills" and it's basically following Lauren around. Um...nah, thanks! I mean, I'd watch that over the 3rd season of LB, but...
So, now my friends and I are looking forward to the next season of the Gauntlet. Well, my friends are and I'm just looking for the next GOOD thing! Hope that something will fill the void that LB has left!

Patti Patti

Ok, is it just me or Patti Labelle a diva levels above ANYONE else, a woman whom all women should aspire to be like?
Ok, first, I was watching "Living it Up with Patti Labelle." That is such a good show, simply because it's all about Patti. The episode last night was her with Mo'Nique at G. Garvin's restaurant. (I also LOVE Mo'Nique! BTW). Mo'Nique was talking about how she saw Patti at some show when she was like 17 (I turned the channel on a little late and missed some of it) and Patti allowed a fan to come up on stage and get a hug. Mo'Nique was saying how impressed she was and how she loves Patti. Patti, wonderful woman that she is, was so touched that she had tears! Patti is the freaking WOMAN! She was so encouraging! And she had brought Mo'Nique a gift! Ms. Labelle is IT!

Then, I was watching the tribute to her on UPN. Uh...besides the fact that she had a "pound of Vaseline" on her legs--according to my mother--Patti looks phenomenal to be 60! Wow! And yes, she's REALLY nice. I mean, to allow Ashanti to "sing" onstage with her, what a BIG HEART she must have! LOL! Because c'mon, raise your hand if you HONESTLY think that Ashanti can even STAND on the same stage as Patti Labelle! oh, and MY group, Boyz II Men still sound FANTABULOUS! first MAJOR celebrity crush (don't joke me. but y'all know how I am, I don't care anyway!) though: Wanya? Did he gain some marriage weight or is it just me? Wow! But still a cutie! Yeah, about him, though, let's get a different wardrobe. Now I realize that BIIM isn't as in demand as they once were so we see them sort of sporadically (though I don't know why. I STILL love them) but the last 2 or 3 times I've seen him, Wanya has had the same outfit on, basically! Dark jacket, white shirt and jeans with tennis shoes! Boo, what's up with that? Just wanted to get that off my chest! Oh yes and Nelly just seems to get finer and finer! (because I was NOT on him when he first came out! Maybe he's one of those "the older the better" kind of dudes.) But back to the subject at hand, Patti Labelle, now she is hotness personified!

I had missed last week and this weeks's Laguna Beach, but WHOO HOO on my relaxing day off yesterday, I saw this week's episode! and guess what happened, it totally made me an LC fan! Who would have thought, right? And it made me the PRESIDENT of the "Kristin is a wench!" NON-fan club! Ugh, how dare Kristin go to Lauren's party--LATE--not speak to the person whose party AND HOUSE it is, leave early and have Stephen leave with her (and Alex) and AGAIN NOT SPEAK to LC! Ugh!! Feel my disgust, Kristin! Feel it!!

In other news, it's like 2 weeks before Thanksgiving and this is like the first year that I haven't been COUNTING DOWN to eating! I don't know what that means. Maybe I've been too preoccupied to think about it! Oh well, I think it's time to start an official countdown! So...15 days until Turkey Day! Whoo hoo! Maybe I'll actually do some of the cooking this year!

my current jam (shamefully)

You know how you have that song, or those songs, that you just LOVE but feel a little funny about listening to, let alone loving! You know what I mean, those songs by artists that you promise to yourself to HATE, or about subjects that you swear you'll never listen to, or some combination of both. Well, I have a new "jam of shame!" It's "Shake" by the Ying Yang Twins featuring Pitbull! This song, SADLY is my JAM! I mean, like I LOVE it! I think it's because it has the "din daa daa" song (the club song & song from Breakin' 2: Electric Bugaloo) in it! So maybe the clubhead/fan of that movie -- don't joke me! that movie was IT back in the day! -- in me feels COMPELLED to love that song! I just be jammin' to it! (yes, that was bad grammar. Ok, but so what. It's not like Mr. Rey is grading this!)
Why do I feel so bad about liking it, um...hello, it's by the freakin Ying Yang Twins!! Seriously! I don't think that ANYTHING by them should be my Jam like "Shake" currently is. Secondly, it's CALLED "Shake", for goodness' sake! I just feel some type of way about liking a song called Shake! It's like, what you listening to "oh, it's called 'Shake' girl!" LOL! What? But having said all that, it's my jam!
(PS another "jam of shame" is "the whisper song" remix. what is it about those freakin TWINS! d$mn them!)

Don't hate the game! (again)

OK, so I was actually up early this morning and I was watching Bishop T.D. Jakes on TBN (they're doing their Praise-A-thon) and he was speaking and in his sermon, he said "Don't hate the game, hate the player!" I was like "here we go AGAIN!" And as I screamed ARE YOU SERIOUS, I said "ok, maybe it really IS me! and maybe the saying really IS "don't have the game, hate the player!" Or--since I wasn't paying too much attention for a second because I was ironing or something--he changed it around purposely! Please, Lawd, let that be it! Otherwise, I'm just all confused by this. Now I realize that once again the speaker of this particular phrase wasn't someone who was considered to be "hip" or ya know, like "down" or whatever, but still, if you are going to USE a slang phrase, shouldn't it be used properly?
or, is it REALLY me? Have I really been thinking, incorrectly, that the phrase was the other way around this whole time? Please someone let me know!!!

My three daughters!

First and foremost, I MUST commend all mothers! (and fathers! People who actually PARENT are IT!) Whoo! Forget Mother's Day, there needs to be Mother's MONTH! (Same for Father's day!) Having children is no joke! I already know that, but whenever I decide to play "mommy for a minute" I'm reminded of that! My goodness! Between last night & earlier today, I had three little ladies with me. Last night (Friday) I had a 6-year-old and an 8-year-old! My sister came over and kept our company and we had a ball, but MY GOODNESS! After picking them up, we got dinner (Taco Bell) and then ice cream (Baskin Robbins. One of them had never been to Baskin Robbins. OK, WHAT?! I HAD to correct that!) We came to my house and ate. My sister joined us and then we had a coloring party! (Tiff and I felt "some kind of way" to be in the house coloring on a Friday night at 22- and 26-years-old.) After that, I had some things to do (dance ministry-related) so the other three had a talent show, that is, after the girls ATTACKED Tiff with tickles! Whoo! The girls didn't go to sleep until like 1am. I went to sleep before them, I assume. I was like, "forget this! Goodnight!" LOL! Then, this morning, after breakfast, showers & extra ironing (I'm used to ironing for one), I took one to tutoring and then I picked up a third little lady, a 3-year-old! So, on top of an active 6-year-old and an active 8-year-old, I added a 3-year-old, complete with car seat that had like 20 seat belts and buckles and hooked up to my car in all these different ways! (I know they are safer but WOW!) So, then I went back to get the one from tutoring and to McDonald's we went...oh, but wait, one of them wanted Burger King. So after I go to the Burger King, I arrive at McDonald's. I, then, got a call on my cell phone and this is where it starts getting GOOD! I'm trying to balance getting three girls out of a car who are excited to be at a McDonald's with a "Play Place" (including releasing the 3-year-old from her car seat with the 39 or so belts and buckles), making them put their coats (and 1 hat) back on! (because "it's hot!"), getting the Burger King bag and soda into my bag so that I'm not too OBVIOUSLY taking BK into Mickey D's, grabbing my purse, making sure they don't touch anything ("leave that DVD thing alone!") and trying to be on the phone! (and the lady was TALKING it UP! Even after I said to her, I have 3 girls with me. We just got to McDonald's) Whoo! So we finally made it into the McDonald's. They play (the 3-year-old only for, like, 2 minutes because she decided that she didn't want to play on those "things") and then eat. and then play more! Wow! Then, I did the drop offs! but MY GOODNESS! I was like, "wow is THIS what it's like to be a parent??! "Man oh man! But...having said all that, it was tons of fun! I will say that it's wonderful though that tonight I'll be falling asleep whenever I want, without having to worry about who's still woke, if she is thirsty and whether or not she's warm enough! Thank God for children! I LOVE them, but it was great to give them BACK to their moms (and dad) today.

This is another one of those "several blog entries rolled into one" entries!

Laguna Beach last night
Of course, as it is Tuesday, I watched Laguna Beach last night! It was graduation day in Laguna on last night's episode. First question: what time do they have graduation? They were just CHILLING, getting ready. Then, by the time they actually left graduation, it was dark outside. That seems odd to me, considering I had to be at Western at the cracking of dawn, or at least it felt that way at the time! Secondly, they were wearing WHATEVER under their gowns! Now I realize that again I went to Western and we have our own special dress code for graduating (a fact I'm QUITE proud of) but even at UMES, they were like, "look THIS LIST is what you can AND CANNOT wear under your gown!" And how about one mom's advice to her daughter--who was a 2005 graduate of Laguna Beach High (or whatever the name is) and was upset (because her gown was so big)--was "well then, you have to dress ultra-sexy underneath to compensate for the bigness!" Yes, ladies and gents, this was one of my FAMOUS AYS moments! Because what kind of advice is that to give your 17- or 18-year-old daughter! Let's see, what else? I STILL don't like Kristin but that's nothing new and she didn't do anything special yesterday. Just wanted to say it again! Um, also Casey and Alex M. "made up" but it was the saddest thing because Casey really just wants friends and Alex is just a wench with a bad weave. Ok so Casey has the worst weave EVER but at least she TRIES to be sweet. (even if I'm not too fond of her because she seems like one of the PLASTICS!) And how about that butthole Jason, now suddenly--since hooking up with the "older woman" LC--he's supposedly moving to L.A. Uh, get out of here! (sidebar: I just went to Yahoo! maps to see how far away from LB Los Angeles was. it's like an hour north! Sheesh, I thought it was like FAR! Wow!) I think that's about it. Oh, lastly, I was sad because Talan wasn't in ONE scene!

On Saturday I treated myself to some Godiva! YES!!! Whoo! I LOVE chocolate--and PLEASE, no jokes from those of you who MIGHT joke me! They were giving out samples of their pumpkin cheesecake dessert chocolat: scrumptious! I didn't buy any of those but I did buy a strawberry cheesecake dessert chocolat! Also delish! and five other pieces! In the Godiva boutique, I realized how one (by "one" I mean "man who SHOULD be in pursuit of me") MIGHT think that I'm the slightest bit expensive. I spent almost $15 and for that I got 6 pieces of candy and a drink.

I have so many coming up! I am QUITE excited!! I think I have at least one scheduled every month from November through March. Then another in June. Then...well, that's all I know for now, but that's enough! Oh, and I might actually go to my timeshare next year (in Orlando). We'll see!

That's about it for me! But that's probably enough, huh?

Oprah's on!

So, I am home while Oprah is on! Why is it that whenever I watch Oprah I'm either CRYING or I HATE the people in the audience (who get all the good stuff)? I don't see Oprah that often because of the hours that I work, but it's like does she have any "regular" topics. I'm either sad or JEALOUS after seeing her show. Um, ok and Tyson (Beckford the model) was on here, among other guests. He was in a near-fatal accident recently and was just talking about that. He was all crying and everything. I'd just like to say that he is still pretty fine! It's about to go off. It's about 4:50p! Oh, and no, don't be impressed. I DIDN'T get to work early enough to be home to see it. I decided to take half a "ME!" day! I claim I'm going to do dishes and wash clothes, but really I've been sitting in front of the computer and near the TV for the last hour! Sheesh! And I have a hair appointment at 6! Whoo hoo! (I'd been wearing my FABULOUS wig for the last 5 or so days! If you haven't seen it, please DO believe that it IS fabulous and I am OFFICIALLY the hotness when I wear it! It's a shortcut hairstyle and it fits my face very well! But when it gets to the point that I can "feel" it on my head, I know I've worn it too many days in a row!) So, I probably WON'T do dishes before I go to the hair dresser! And I need to eat. Oh well...there goes that ("that" being the dishes). Maybe they'll be done by the end of the weekend!

LB: last week's and this week's

OK, so I am watching the rerun of last week's Laguna Beach and I have MUCH to say!
First of all, if Talan wasn't already my BOYFRIEND, how he asked Kristin to the prom would have made him! He is the sweetest thing and it's WENCHES like the unworthy one (aka Kristin) who make it hard for the NICE girls! He had roses and candles...ok, what? We ARE talking about PROM right? But the whole "pranks for prom" thing, I am so not with it! I'd be so unamused! Like how Taylor's date had her car almost towed, NOT funny! And um...did Jeff and maybe the other dude's name was Jeff too, anyway did they like air kiss? Um...looks like it and YIKES! And how about Jason who I can't STAND! Why ask someone to the prom JUST to ignore and "hook up" with that freaking Alex M.--another one I can't stand. Lastly, I realize that there MUST be some difference in culture when it comes to the prom. All the girls wore sundresses and were like doing their own hair and whatnot, with the exception of Casey! Wow, girlfriend came in with the long dress with the super cutouts on the side! Wow! Oh, and last but not least I do NOT like Cedrick and how WACK of him was it that he was at the same salon getting his hair done as Alex M. for prom! Ugh!!!!!

Now, as for this week's episode! It was basically a snoozer but um LC and Jason, oh my bad Jaywall! Um, when did he get that nickname? And secondly, Yuck! I don't think that ANYONE should be with Jason and I'm not the biggest Lauren fan, so them together, sheesh! I think that's it for this week! Oh, except for the fact that Stephen did what MOST guys do, realize how DUMB he was AFTER LC was already like "um, no thanks!" Guys, PLEASE, let's get it together! Thank you!

Just felt like it

I haven't posted in a couple of days and just wanted to post, so I'll just ramble on about a few things. I'll try to ramble in an organized way though, so I'll provide subheadings. (This will probably be LONG!)

In Memory of...
Today is October 13, 2005. My maternal grandmother, Naomi Griffin, died 10 years ago on this date. It's funny because I feel completely different now than I thought I'd feel all those years ago. I am absolutely ok. Of course I MISS her very much, but it's not like I "can't go on" or anything like that. My aunts, uncle and mother (from the last time I saw each of them) all seem to be "fine." Of course, that is relative because my family is CRAZY! :--) I used to think that we'd all come undone. That we'd all lose our minds (at least us "older" ones, like the ones who were, at the time, 12 and up.) But we are all ok! Most of us are still pursuing our relationships with the Lord. (my MaMa was our spiritual "enforcer!") None of us have done anything "too" bad since she died. (I mean, teenage pregnancies and arrests aside, that is!) But thinking about this also makes me think about how time flies! I was a junior at Western when I got the call to come to the office with all my things! I was in this WACK health class on the bottom floor not paying much attention! In fact, I didn't even realize it was my name that they announced over the PA because I was talking! Someone else had to get my attention! I remember feeling like I wouldn't know what to do or where to go with my spiritual questions...although there were PLENTY of other places and people to go to, she was my main source of Godly information. And now, here it is 10 years later and I'm still standing. I'm ok! But my MaMa, I still miss her and I'm even taller than her now! (I used to always tease her about how short she was!)
This is a perfect segue into my next topic...

I am OLD!
It's funny, when you are young, you picture your life one way and then as you start to grow up, you adjust your "vision" of the future. And then you get to adulthood and it's almost nothing like you thought! Ok, so I'm NOT old! I'm ONLY 26, but like I tell the older people in my life who say "GIRL, PLEASE, YOU ARE A BABY," I'm older than I've ever been! And it's not all that it's cracked up to be. I mean, when you are like 13, you say "I'm going to go to college and then graduate. I'm going to be married by 21, start having children when I'm 22, and be finished by the time I'm 28. I'm going to have a dog and a BIG house!" Ok, so when I was 13, I didn't think exactly like that, but by the time I was 18, I'm pretty sure that I did. And at 20, I was CONVINCED I'd be married by 22 and that by 26, surely someone would be calling me "Mommy." But then LIFE happened and now here I am: a boomerang kid working a job that I like only every other Friday with great friends but no boyfriend trying to decide "WHAT NEXT?" I don't think that adults properly ready children for the adult world. Like almost everyone said "enjoy being a kid" but hardly anybody said why. No one said "so you have a what! that does NOT mean you'll get the job of your DREAMS." I don't think I heard "well, you'll make good money but you'll HATE waking up in the morning!" (but that's because the people I know HATE their job but DON'T really make good money!) Not once did someone say to me "yes, you'll be CUTE and have a good job, no children, LOVE the Lord, do volunteer work, have your own car, be an independent woman BUT still cook, clean and all that other domestic CRAP (and do it WELL I might add) but you STILL won't be able to PURCHASE a date!" I really don't think that being a child prepared me for being an adult! Anyone else agree?
Man, I am GREAT at segues (whoo hoo to ME!)

So, today is Thursday which automatically starts me to thinking "What am I doing this weekend?" BUT, if I have ONE more weekend that consists entirely of "girls night out" or "ladies pow-wow" or "chillin' with the girls" I WILL scream! As you may have guessed by now, I am not currently involved in a relationship. (this is ANOTHER irony of life. there was a point where I wanted NOTHING more than to be ALONE, basically forever! And now, I think about relationships alot. That's pretty funny!) Even though, I am not involved, at least my sister and one of my best friends are doing pretty OK in that area! (Oh, and another best friend got married earlier this year, so that is definitely a VICTORY for the team!) But back to sis and one of the bff's. They are both in the beginning stages of relationships so YAY, TWO for the TEAM! We (my group of friends) realize that if ANY of our close friends make moves in this area then there IS hope for the rest of us! We aren't all destitute losers who will have to be alone...or worse yet, settle for "Mr. Available and Willing" as opposed to what we really want "Mr. Right for ME!" So, yay team!

Missed it last night

Last night was PROM NIGHT in Laguna Beach and I missed the new episode! I am very upset! But it's ok. Because it comes on MTV I KNOW it'll be on AGAIN and AGAIN before next Monday's new episode!

I also missed the My SS16 with Gerald Levert's daughter but I'm not pressed about that, as much!

Happy Columbus Day

Today is October 10. It's the second Monday in October. You know what that means, Columbus Day! Well, if you've never heard of it, or never kept up with it, DON'T feel bad! I didn't even realize that it was a national holiday until I started working for the federal government 4 years ago. Not only is it a national holiday, but it's a FEDERAL holiday! So that means I get a day off for, in my opinion, nothing! Whoo hoo! But you know what's so ironic, this morning I woke up at about 5:25. (it was mostly because I fell asleep at a friend's by mistake WITH my contacts in. and when I got home, I did go back to sleep!) Now the funny thing is that on a "normal" work morning, IF I wake up before 8am, I feel PROUD! How ridiculous!
Oh well...Columbus Day, one of the perks of having a good gov't job!

The Cow bka Dairy Fresh

I just felt that it was totally time for a FOOD-related post!! I am always saddened by the end of summer b/c it means the close (for the season) of places like Rita's Italian Ice and more importantly Dairy Fresh. I think that Rita's is a wonderful place, but since I have discovered Dairy Fresh, I just don't love Rita's as much! So, tonight will be one of my "final trips"--even though they probably won't close for another month (they stay open longer because they are the GREATEST!) But it just makes me sad to know that soon I won't be able to ride all the way up Reisterstown Road, eventually changing to Main Street (it makes the change in Reisterstown) to get my good ole gelati! Did I mention that I live in (basically) upper Park Heights (in Baltimore city, just in case my blog has gone national or international! Hey, I'm funny! It COULD happen!) and I make the drive to Reisterstown (about 25 or so minutes) whenever the urge hits me to get a gelati (chocolate ice w/vanilla frozen custard, or my NEW thing, chocolate AND peanut butter ice with vanilla custard! Ty, YES!) or a Concrete! (custard mixed with a topping, like nuts or something!) And the sad part is that I have friends who live in that area and sometimes (shh! don't tell them) I will go and get something from Dairy Fresh and NOT stop by to visit with them! Call it greedy if you want. I just say that I'm "very good to myself" as my friend Karyn once said!

PS They recently changed the name of Dairy Fresh to "The Cow" but I completely HATE that name! I just can't bring myself to say "who wants something from the Cow" or when someone asks where I'm going to get a gelati from, I don't see me saying "I'm getting it from the Cow!" What?

I feel convicted...

OK, this post is a shout-out to my friend Toya. She has a post on her blog talking about how we shouldn't use the word "ghetto" when we really mean other words. I was re-reading my previous posts and I felt TOTALLY convicted! (such a CHURCH girl phrase!) I should have said that the young lady who was allowing her friend to "attend" the Hip Hop Honors via cellular phone was using actions that were completely inappropriate for that particular setting, being that she was on national television. I should have said that she, Miss "you don't have a ticket, hey I got a cell phone so you can still 'come'" was using bad cell phone etiquette. I should have said that I find it quite RUDE that she was just holding her cell phone in the air! I should have any of this, rather than to just call her "ghetto"! Thanks for checkin' me, Toya! And yes, as a person who is (proud to be) from the ghetto, I should DEFINITELY know better! I mean, I wouldn't want my name to become synonymous with lateness (although, let's be frank, it kind of could be! BUT I'm working on it!) and then to therefore be used whenever people mean that something is done not in the timeframe that it should have been! Examples, "Girl, my friend is so TONYETTE, she got here at 4:45, knowing the show started at 3:30" or "sheesh, how TONYETTE were they to have delivered that software on the 16th instead of the 1st like they promised?" YIKES!! I cringe at the thought, so again, Toya, thank you!!!

Don't hate the game! (Last night's LB)

So of course I watched my new favorite MTV show last night, Laguna Beach, and of course there was MUCH that I could discuss. Every week this show provides at least one shriek of "ARE YOU SERIOUS??" from me and this week proved no different! Jessica (who I just feel sorrier and sorrier for each episode!) and maybe Alex M. (I think, but I don't remember. It was one of them "blonde" chicks!) were having a conversation. So Alex M. (or whoever she is) says "what is that saying? 'Don't hate the player, hate the game'. Is that how it goes?" To which Jessica replies, "no, it's 'Don't hate the game, hate the player.'" At this point, I cry "ARE YOU SERIOUS?" to the TV. Because Jessica said it like she was absolutely right, like she was the end-all be-all on this particular brand of slang. Like her friends look to her as the "I don't only speak VALLEY GIRL" member of the crew! She said it like, "no, you almost had it, but I KNOW the saying!" Mind you this was like 2 minutes into the show. My FAVORITE moment, my AYS moment had arrived so early in the program! I was already satisfied and could have turned the TV off right then! Yes! But seriously, "don't hate the game, hate the player!" Seriously!?! And then the blond chick says "I totally hate the game!" LOL!!!!! Of course they were talking about guys (and Jessica's latest crush, Jeff) but I was just kept repeating it to myself. "Don't hate the game, hate the player! Don't hate the game, hate the player!" I mean, Jessica said it with SUCH utter conviction that I had to, at one point, check with myself and be sure that she did, in fact, say it wrong! Wow! It's because of times like those that I even watch Laguna Beach, for the AYS moments! I won't even start on that Kristin girl and how she hooked up with YET another young fella! Nor will I go into how Jessica's taste needs a makeover! LOL! First, Dieter, then Jason, now Jeff. Sadly, I think Jason is the cutest of the three! But I will say how I can't wait to see it next week because I think my BOYFRIEND Talan will ask Kristin to the prom, in a very sweet way (based on my assessment of the previews). But Talan, why? Kristin is so unworthy!

And I also watched My Super Sweet 16. It was actually a young lady's quincearea, so it was her "fifteen's" as she kept on calling it. Wow, everything was nice but I'm sure it was completely over-the-top expensive! I have seen weddings that cost like a fraction of what her party cost and that were MUCH less organized! But at least she was appreciative, for the most part, and her parents actually seemed like parents, not peons! Because it was a quince, she had 30 total people in her quince court (15 young ladies and 15 gentlemen to accompany and dance with them.) She designed her dress (which is like a wedding dress) and the dresses of her court. She didn't come off as a complete BRAT like some of them do. That was good. Next week will be Gerald Levert's daughter. I hope she is NOTHING like Cee-lo's daughter was. That girl was a nightmare!

did the research...

and it appears that Russell is older than Rev. Run (as I thought anyway!) what I didn't realize is that, according to (which is one of my main "sources" of information, as I am QUITE the Internet stalker) Rev. Run is NINE years younger than Rush! (I know, I TOOK you BACK with the "Rush" nickname!) I mean, does anyone else think they look like they are that far apart? I mean, Russell is 48 which means the Rev is only what? 39? Oh my GOSH! I honestly don't believe that. I'll have to do some more research. That just seems so wrong!

One more thing...

About the Hip Hop Honors. En Vogue sang! Ok, it was pretty brief (because they were performing "Whatta Man" with Salt-N-Pepa) but to see Cindy, Dawn, Maxine and Terry all together was pretty exciting!

VH1's Hip Hop Honors

Ok, so it's 1:56 in the morning. Because I was ridiculously tired after cooking a nice Sunday dinner, I took an almost FIVE-hour nap! (It was completely unintentional!) Anyway, so when I woke UP at midnight, I figured there'd be nothing good on. Lo and behold, at 12:30, VH1's Hip Hop Honors were replaying! Whoo hoo because I hadn't seen them yet! Well, the first person they were honoring was LL Cool J. And there was a performance by Nelly and Ciara. Well, I was completely skeptical of Nelly and Ciara (both who I like, actually, but I'm just skeptical sometimes!) Well, they proved to be great and made me a believer! Nelly really captured the 80s LL! He performed "I'm bad" and it was almost like watching the video for that song! Plus, he looked a little sexy! I'm now offically ON Nelly! Then, he and Ciara did "Doin' it" and they were very good! I thought it was good that they were able to add their own flair (for example, instead of repping Queens and Brooklyn as the original song does, Nelly said "the Lou" and "ATL"!) but still staying pretty true to the song. Plus, Ciara looked really pretty! Prettier than usual, and I always think she looks pretty! I think it was the hair. She need to FOREVER keep her hair dark! Gorgeous! Plus, it wasn't just hanging there like normal! It was curly or wavy or something. I loved it! So, they have both made me fans, moreso than I was before.

Ok, so honestly I really just wanted to comment on Nelly and Ciara, but for the most part, I MUST say that this is one of the best "honor some folk" shows I've seen in a long time. I really think that all of the performances were really good. The tribute ones so far have been really impressive because it seems like the people really took the time to capture the person to whom they are tributing. Right now, TI, Black Thought & Common are doing a tribute to Big Daddy Kane! Really good! (sidebar: Common has such a beautiful face. I think it's the eyes!!) I think what's most wonderful is that I'm not thinking "WHY did they choose these people?" after each tribute performance--like I do MOST times when I see shows like this. i.e. when LIZA MINNELLI sang at the Michael Jackson one! Sheesh! I didn't even know what song she was performing until someone SAID it later! What the h___! Anyway, even the honorees performed really well! (Um, Ice-T though. I wasn't too impressed but I think that's just because I never really liked Ice-T as a rapper. When he was really "out" I wasn't into West Coast rap like that. I like him better as an actor than a rapper, actually!)

Also, Russell Simmons and Reverend Run look more and more alike the older they get! Wow! Ok, I should probably know this, but who's older? I always thought Russell. I still think that but they must be pretty close in age. Being the ME that I am, I'm going to have to do the research and find out!

OK, I WAS about to end this post, but the show just came back from commercial. How GHETTO is it that they just showed Diddy going up on stage (for the tribute to honoree B.I.G.) and some woman was on her CELL PHONE talking and then she just held the phone up to the air. So, what, she's like letting her friend "attend" the concert? I mean, if you are in the FRONT ROW of a nationally televised show, please at least act like you're not THAT ghetto! Last comment, Faith: what? I don't really like what she she has on tonight, or her attempt at "hip hop-ness" or whatever. I'm not feeling her tonight. But as you may know, I've never been the biggest Faith fan anyway. (Yeah, yeah, yeah! I know! I'm like the only one, but that's fine with me!) Ok, so sorry, one more comment. I now think that to call him "Lil" Cease is a big stretch. I might not have much room to talk, but wow, he's BLOWN UP! And I don't mean as far as his musical career! Yikes! Ok, now that it's 2:30 and I'm still completely NOT sleepy, what will I do now? (whoo hoo! Law & Order: CI is on!! and if you don't know what the "CI" stands for, then you don't know what's up!)

The Da Vinci Code

At the suggestion of my friend Alyson, I borrowed the Da Vinci Code (by Dan Brown) from the library. I admittedly didn't know anything about it, except that some Christians were basically trying to ban it and stop the movie from being made. Having read it, I can understand why some would want to do that (I think that's a little extreme but I can at least understand)...BUT the book was fantastic! It was one of the best books I've ever read in my entire life. Plus, it made me want to change jobs and become a cryptanalyst!! (I'm really thinking about that now.) I was figuring out some of the passwords and stuff. I won't say what it's about but I will suggest that EVERYONE read it. (oh yes, it's 426 pages. or something like that. at least the hardback one is, but don't let that stop you!!)

I thought I had more to say, but I forgot...Oh yes, this Saturday, if it crosses your mind and you are a person who prays, please pray for me this Saturday. I'll be walking in the Race for the Cure. (The walking portion starts at 8:30.) It's only 3.1 miles, but still. I know I'll be fine and will finish and all of that. I don't expect to win any "first across the finish line" prizes, but... I'm more worried about how tired I'll be later in the day! And if you want to give a donation to the Susan G Komen foundation...please feel free to contact me!

Addendum (to my crossover boyfriends list!)

In my excitement to publish my list of all the sexy MENS that I'd cross that racial line for, I COMPLETELY forgot number 4: Orlando Bloom!!
Orly, sorry I missed ya honey! What was I thinking?

Ok, now I must admit, that unlike Paul Walker--I've seen all his movies--I don't think I've ever seen one movie that even features Orlando Bloom! I know, I know! Seriously though, NO, I haven't seen any Lord of the Rings movies, or Pirates of the Caribbean. I claimed I was going to see Troy just because he was in it, but nope, didn't do that. Maybe this new movie with Kirsten Dunst will be the one that turns the tide! But the fact that I've seen him in NOTHING goes even further to prove his YUM factor! I don't even know where I've really seen him. Maybe previews and interviews, but that's about it! Anyway, he's another cutie on the crossover list!

My list of crossover boyfriends (trying to be PC here!)

After numbers 1-3, they are in no particular order! Also, please know that when it comes to my BOYFRIENDS, I don't need backup. If I am the only person on the planet who thinks someone is cute, that's ok with me!)
1) Paul William Walker IV! I LOVE Paul Walker (and in case you are clueless and live somewhere that I don't wanna live, he's probably most famous for the Fast and the Furious movies!) Any movie that Paul is in, I MUST see, at least once! Yes, sometimes they SUCK but hey, at least I get to see 90 or more minutes of his beautifulness! (mini sidebar: MANY hats OFF to the casting director of 2 Fast 2 Furious! My goodness! Paul Walker, Tyrese, Ludacris and a few minutes of Michael Ealy! YES! Ok!! I didn't even care what the movie was about once I saw who was in it!)
2) Nick Lachey! I have already claimed that I WILL be his second wife! (and my name will be Tonyette Lache Lachey! LOL!) C'mon all the evidence points towards Nick marrying me. A. How long is he going to be willing to put up with Jessica and her non-cleaning, overspending self? B. I could see him with a Black wife C. I'm me! That's enough right there!
3) Benjamin Bratt (I guess he goes on this list. He has a White dad and a Peruvian Indian mother, so...) He's just beautiful! He's the REASON I started watching Law & Order! (now I just love the show, though!)
*remember, the rest of this list is in no particular order*
*Justin Timberlake (even though WHERE IS HE these days?)
*The Rock (he's another one who I'm not sure if he goes on this list. His dad is Black and his mom is Samoan.)

*Mark-Paul Gosselar (used to play Zach on Saved by the Bell and then was on NYPD Blue) He's still cute!
*Talan from Laguna Beach (he's a little cutie. my friends think that Jason is cute but I don't!)
OK, can't think of anyone else right now. This is long enough!

Laguna Beach on 9/26/025

I completely LOVE this show! (I know I said that in the last post, but so what!) This show is so completely funny to me! Oh, and Talan is officially on the list of my CROSSOVER boyfriends! (I will post my "crossover list" in another post!) When he was fixing that totally unworthy Kristin dinner, I was like, "Talan, you should be mine!" Which brings me to Kristin! Honey, if you know that Talan likes you and you know that Stephen freakin' LOVES you, what are you doing? The faces that she makes when she's with each of them is so funny, but if I saw the show later and was either one of them, I'd be upset with her! And in the previews for the episode next week, she "hooks up" with another guy! But hey, at least she's being honest. She has told both Talan and Stephen that she doesn't want a boyfriend, so I gotta give her that! How about the "MOST FAKE CHICK IN THE UNIVERSE" award goes to Casey! Sheesh, everything about her is fake! It's ridiculous! I hate to even hear her talk! And it seems that everyone is always hating on Alex M. But I don't like the wench either, so you can add me to the list of haters!
Laguna Beach is now for me what the Real World (up through Philadelphia) once was!

New Favorite Show

I have a new favorite show on MTV. For me, this show is must-see TV.
It's Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County. I LOVE this show. I get upset when I miss the new episodes. (it comes on Mondays at 10 EST) but MTV being MTV, I can ALWAYS catch a repeat!
I started watching it one day when I was being lazy in a hotel room in Dallas. I was at a dance ministry conference and couldn't move another muscle. So I flipped on the TV. Channel-surfing, I stopped on Laguna Beach. I watched like 4 episodes back-to-back and I've been hooked ever since. The show is about some RICH kids who live in Laguna Beach, California! It's a real-life show. The kids are not actors. I LOVE this show because these kids (seniors in high school and freshmen in college, now that it's the second season) live lives so FAR removed from ANYTHING I'm used to that I'm always completely intrigued, hypnotized, even stupefied by their actions! First of all, I NEVER see parents on the show. Secondly, they all drive...and nice cars and trucks too! It's ridiculous! I've been watching for like 3 months (I'm a latecomer, I know) and the main clique has been on like 3 trips! And they go nice places, Cabo San Lucas and Lake Tahoe and all this and that! MTV, this show is fantastic!

Another almost-fave is My Super Sweet Sixteen. This show is also about rich kids. But this is about rich spoiled kids! One girl hired Ciara to sing at her party. Another girl--who was only turning 15, but wanted to have a big party to ONE UP all her friends--rented models to hand-deliver edible invitations and then rented a stretch Hummer in order to see everyone's reaction to the invite. My FAVORITE girl was a spoiled snotty little girl who not only wore two different dresses to her party but also cried because her parents didn't give her the brand new Range Rover that she wanted on her actual birthday--but she got it on the day of her party! and she only had a learner's permit at the time! But my favorite moment with this little brat was when she, a friend of hers and her mother flew to Paris, to look for the dresses for the party! Then, after she got there, she kept picking all this cleavage-bearing, low-back stuff that her mom wouldn't let her get! So, she flew to Paris to find a dress for a party where she was turning 16, but she didn't even find anything! Moments like that, THAT is why I like this show so much! But nothing beats my Laguna Beach!

(I am going to try to post at least twice a week. I can't promise daily right now but I'll do what I can!)

Ok, having said that, TGIPF! (In case you are wondering, the "P" stand for PAY!) Whoo hoo! I love payday!! Payday is the reason I come to work every day. (Sad but true. I'm currently seeking other employment. No, not actively, but I'm about to change all that!) Sure, I pay bills the INSTANT that I get paid--sometimes I send checks out in just enough time that they'll arrive on payday--and SURE I've got a few bills that are just waiting for my proper attention, but at least on pay Friday, I can treat myself. I can have lunch AND a snack! I can have dinner AND dessert! On pay Friday, I can go to BP and say those three beautiful words, "Fill up, please!" Ok, that last one wasn't completely true b/c I rarely, if ever, use cash to get gas! But you get what I'm saying! Pay Friday is a good day for me! I get so happy about getting paid that the mere thought of getting paid the next day is enough to make me happy on Thursday!

Why I (will) talk about food SO much

In case you are like "dang, this girl LOVES food!"--and if you aren't like that, you probably WILL be--or even "why does she have links to Godiva and the Food Network?" I just thought I'd mention that I intend to become a pastry chef in the near future! So my "job" will be food, well dessert very soon.

Plus, on top of that, I LOVE to eat. Let's be real! My friend Tyesha told me that she didn't know anyone who got as excited talking about food as me. I can accept that! I mean, I really enjoy food. I feel like this, if we must eat to live, and if I intend to live until at least my late 90s, I'd better get to enjoying what it is that I eat. (But I do have a friend who loves to talk about food with me! I won't say any names, but she's a NEWLYwed! She knows who she is!)

First post

Ok, why did I decide to create a blog?
1) Everybody's doing it *said like a whiny little teenager*
2) I LOVE blogs!!!
3) My sister said that I'm very random and that I have a tendency to ramble. I figure this would be the BEST place to do that!
