Today is one of those days that just kind of SUCK but I'm trying to NOT let everything get to me! And I was thinking...I'd love to have some of "platform" to tell the whole world that today sucks...and then I remembered this blog! YAY for blogging! So, it's Wednesday...which always means meetings and more meetings for my team here at work. And let's be honest, MEETINGS SUCK such BIG LEMONS! So...here's how my day has been so far. 1) Arrive at work...CAN'T find a legal parking spot so create a parking spot and hope that I don't get a ticket! 2) Come and sign in and HOPE that there's no team meeting today but that's a pointless hope 'cuz my TL like NEVER cancels the meetings! 3) I go to the meeting (after being nearly 15 minutes late to it) and it's long...but not as long as it would be if one of my co-workers weren't OUT! Thank God cause she can TALK! 4) I come back to my desk...I HATE days like today...I've gotten tired of d...

Is anyone else DEEPLY concerned with the inordinate number of songs that talk about, or seem aimed at, strippers? "I'm in love with a stripper" (or depending on where you live/what radio station you listen to "...a dancer"). I've pretty much come to realize that "Laffy Taffy" at least MENTIONS strippers. And it seems like ANY song by the Ying Yang Twins are for/about strippers and strip clubs! Why? But then again...when I think about the artists who sing/rap these songs, I THINK it may have the littlest bit to do with the fact that any "action" they might get from women may only really be from someone getting PAID to deal with them! (I hope that doesn't sound TOO mean!) But still...CHILL on the stripper songs, please !

So, there's a new show on HBO called Big Love . Now when I saw the previews for it, I must admit that I was SO confused and yet a little intrigued. I was pretty sure that I was going to watch it. Oh well, I forgot about it..until it was on when I was flipping through the channels. So, of course now I'm hooked! It's YET another one of those shows that I wonder why I watch but then it's so different from the life I lead that I MUST watch it. If you don't know what it is, it's about a guy named Bill Henrickson (played by Bill Paxton. For some reason, I always feel some kind of way about people who play characters with the same name as their real name!) Bill has three wives: wife #1 is Barb (played by Jeanne Tripplehorn). Bill and Barb have 3 children. Wife #2 is Nicki (played by Chloe Sevigny...who makes me CRINGE almost every time I see her!) Bill and Nicki have 2 boys. Ok, so yes, I will admit, I was one of the FOOLS who fell in love with the show The Flavor of Love . Why? For the same reason that I used to watch Laguna Beach: The Real O.C. Because so many times I just sit in amazement and wonder "are you serious?" about so many of the characters. Though these shows claim to be REALITY TV there are always plenty of CHARACTERS! Once again, I came to discover the show late! So I only saw it from when there were about 8 or so women. Ok, although she is completely NUTS, I really wanted New York to win. I mean, why would anyone want Hoopz to end up with Flavor Flav? Seriously? That's why I hoped last night that Hoopz aka Nikki would lose. But she didn't and of course Flav picked her. So, I went to Vegas...and I FELL IN LOVE! It was actually kind of amazing because I didn't expect to have as much fun as I did. It was fantastic and I'm anxious to go back. I would give details but you know what they say: What happens in Vegas...

This time next week (Friday, 2/17) will be the 3rd day that I'll be in Vegas ask Sin City...but I don't wanna go over there and come back "needing to hit the altar" as my sister said. So I'll call Vegas "Place where you can go a little crazy but not necessarily sin" City! Although, I think my friend Alyson has "committed" to getting me drunk for the first time in my life! (I think I should be proud that at 26, I've never been drunk! A little tipsy maybe, "nice," sure, but never drunk! Two thumbs up to me!) I am leaving for Philly (to meet up with my newest sisters aka my friend Alyson and her 2 sisters) on Tuesday and then we're headed to Las Vegas, NV BRIGHT and early on Wednesday morning! Question to myself: Why is it that whenever I seem to go on vacation or have other things to do on my vacation, I always have to be up EARLIER than I get up for work! What's up with tha...

I think something may be a little wrong with me. I realized the other day...and it was confirmed today...that every time I say, read, sing or write the word "wink" that I feel "forced" to follow up with the action of winking as accompaniment! Like just typing this post, I had to concentrate on not doing it as I typed it! Is that crazy? Oh well...that's me! (I will come back and post more later! Lately, I've been REALLY finding myself more attracted to guys who are cute or "have their own look" but are great people as opposed to fine guys who are just cool! Is it just me (and my sister) or is there just something so incredibly SEXY about a guy who can hold a conversation intelligently? There's something about someone who knows WORDS and uses them correctly and thinks that white t-shirts are to be worn as UNDERGARMENTS only! (well, for the most part. Nothing wrong with it, every NOW and again, as a part of the outfit!) Whoo! Give it up for the man with an education who isn't afraid to let people know that he has one! YES! And a heart for the people, a philanthropist, will just get me EVERY time! Even my latest celebrity obsessions...oops, I mean, crushes, reflect my new attitude! Is it because I'm getting older? Or is it because i'm looking for a husband now...as opposed to just a boyfriend like when I was a little younger?

So, today is a better day than yesterday, PRAISE GOD! I've come to the conclusion that on this last Friday in 2005--um, excuse me WHERE did the time go???--I'm going to decide, like I've HAD to do all year, to be happy! So, today I'm not SO BLECH! I'm pretty ok. I just came from lunch with my dad. I requested a "Dad & Tonyette" only lunch! Just because! It was good! We talked and I told him that it's all his fault that my life is so tough! LOL! Calm down! Before all you readers are like, "MY GOD, SHE DID WHAT?" I told him that I am 26 and life is tough and that he didn't tell me it would be! (I told my mother the same thing a few weeks ago!) It was nice! But I'm back here (at work, SHEESH!) trying to make this deadline for my team leader! I think I MIGHT be able to have something to give him by the end of the day! Gracious! But thank God for a job! Also, before I forget, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! Wow, it's almost 2006! I can't bel...

You ever have one of those days? You know, those days were you wake up and you feel ok. Not great or piss poor, but ok. Like you can at least face the day without any mood-enhancing drugs (prescribed or not, your choice!) and you're ok with being "ok" because hey, you could be worse. But then as the day progresses, it just gets worse and worse! Well today, for me, is one of those days! To today, I say BLECH! I'm ready to go home and NOTHING for the next couple of hours! I don't want to be here at work. I will probably be bored at home. I don't feel like going out (because I don't really have any money) and it's rainy anyway! I won't feel like doing housework! I feel another BLECH coming on! BLECHHH! People keep asking me what I'm doing for New Year's Eve. I could go to church, but don't want to. So, ok, last night I decided to watch the "where are they now" episode of ANTM for the most recent cycle! WHY did I do it? First of all, Tyra is so excited about her new talk show that she decided to have the reunion episode on the set of the Tyra Show! Um, BOOOOOOOO!!!!!! Like I said, I was expecting this to be like a "where are they now" type of show. but it was more like the Real World Reunion shows! I didn't really like that! Instead of just following the girls & seeing what they are doing now, Tyra decides to talk about their feelings since seeing the show and CRAP like that! Get outta here! It was SO wack! And I was even FURTHER upset about the fact that Nicole won! BOOOOOOO! I still cannot believe that she won! Ugh! She's high fashion? Really? Wow! I will say that seeing this show did, however, make me like Coryn more! LOL! She's funny! But maybe that's because I like ignorant stuff! But she's still very masculine looking! It's act...

A few times in the past few days, I really felt like I had something to say. I wanted to hurry here and post, but it seems I always got distracted! I'll try to remember and give sub-headings. for some reason, I think this will be a long one! The Tyra Show Um...Tyra Banks has a talk show? Now, I think she's COOL and all, but just COOL! I mean, would I watch her talk to guests for a hour? Doubtful! I keep trying to watch a whole hour but it never seems to happen! First of all, the topics she has, give me a break! Anyone who really knows me, knows that I LOVE me some Mary J. Blige! Well, I was one of the sad ones who was almost upset because she got so happy and drama-free! Dang, where were the songs like "My Life" and "Reminisce" and "I'm Going Down"? But...tonight (for the third night in a row!) I'm up past 1am. I decided to turn on BET After Dark! I really like watching this show because for the most part, there are no FOOLISH videos or songs on here! Plus, everything is mellow! Good show, BET! So, it's Saturday and Thanksgiving was Thursday. Ok, aside from the WONDERFUL food and FANTASTIC desserts, I was really happy Thursday, just to be alive and well to see another Turkey Day. I had a house to wake up in, a family to eat with and a car to drive me from place to place! So, Thursday, I was grateful! But two things have happened since Thanksgiving day that have made me more than grateful. I've since realized that I'm BLESSED and for that, I'm forever appreciative! First , yesterday, I was off work--woke up dizzy and kept drifting in and out of sleep--so one of the few hours that I was actually woke, I watched MTV's True Life: I'm Dead Broke . WOW! It followed three young people: DeMarlon, 21; Alexa, 18; Sandra 22. All three were struggling to deal with poverty! To see people who have literally half (or less) than what I have, but still are willing to fight to make it really moved me. I mean, I was crying and everything!! The guy DeMarlon was determine...

In years past--especially my college years--as soon as summer was over, I'd be on a countdown to Thanksgiving! This year, not so! Today is Tuesday & Thursday is Thanksgiving, but I'm rather un-excited! When I was at UMES, I'd be like "only 2 months and 16 days until I get to EAT REAL FOOD!" But this year, I'm like "it's whatever!" I wonder what that's about. Is it because I'm getting older? Is it because this year was rather tough and I couldn't even think as far as the next week, let alone months? Hmm...either way, thinking about my mother's cornbread stuffing, I think I can get a little excited now!

I am watching the Vibe awards right now! (they are SO INCREDIBLY WACK that it actually hurts my feelings but I continue to watch, so what does that say about me!) So, anyway, Kyla Pratt and Robert Ri'chard were presenting! Um HELLO to Robert Ri'chard! He's definitely a yummy young thing! So I was like, "you know, I need to post my young boyfriends' list!" In order to qualify as a "young boyfriend" the young fellow in question must be at least 18 (not trying to be Roberta Kelly or anything like that!) but is at least 3 years younger than I. I don't think I have a number one. There are so many YOUNG fine guys that it's actually making me UPSET because I'm like, will I have to marry younger? It's looking like a YES! Yep, so me BEING me, I did the research b/c I couldn't remember the group name of Tigra and Bunny! They were called L'Trimm! Wow, their two "hits" were Grab It...and the aforementioned song! LOL! I remember first of all that I used to think they were wack, even back then!!! I found out that the first album (with the two known songs) was released in 1988, so I was like 9. So for me to think they were wack in the 80s , they MUST have been wack! Ugh! I remember I used to always imitate the "we're Tigra...and Bunny...and we like the boom!" part for laughs! Did anyone know that they released 3 albums? Wow!

This post is SUCH a copy of my friend Toya's post about our high school, Western! There are some pretty interesting characters that I came across and the funny part is that those people were PAID to be there! Of course I'm referring to the teachers! Here are a few of my most/least favorite ones: (9th grade) Mr. Gogel: my algebra teacher. He was just funny. First of all, he KNOWS he was the dang Oriole bird but I guess he was supposed to keep the identity of the O's bird a secret. So whenever we asked, he always gave the dumbest answers! Even after we SAW HIM in a freakin' commercial! And I didn't like him because I guess I wasn't prepared enough for math (coming from CALVERTON) so when he asked for questions and I said I didn't understand things, he'd say "that's not a question!" Duh, OBVIOUSLY it's not a FREAKIN' question but I don't understand!" Plus he was just quirky and it was kind of funny! My English teacher: it'...

Uh, yeah, Laguna Beach's season finale was tonight. Um, it was pretty cool; the different kids were leaving for school and whatnot. Um, ok. Tears and hugs and whatever! It was a cool episode and the Most Unworthy Wench was actually showing emotion!! I guess she was sad to be leaving home and all that! At the end of the episode, they showed LC on TRL. She announced that their was a surprise: a season three. Wow, how thrilled was I UNTIL they showed a preview of the new season. Yeah, about that...BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! The new cast is WACK! It's season 2's juniors and the only one we know is Cami, who we saw for like 2 seconds when she was Jason's DISSED prom date! LOL! What? OH, but they did show my young boyfriend, Talan, so I will be at least trying to snatch PEEKS at the show every now and again! Also, they have another show called "The Hills" and it's basically following Lauren around. Um...nah, thanks! I mean, I'd watch that over the 3rd season of LB,...

Ok, is it just me or Patti Labelle a diva levels above ANYONE else, a woman whom all women should aspire to be like? Ok, first, I was watching "Living it Up with Patti Labelle." That is such a good show, simply because it's all about Patti. The episode last night was her with Mo'Nique at G. Garvin's restaurant. (I also LOVE Mo'Nique! BTW). Mo'Nique was talking about how she saw Patti at some show when she was like 17 (I turned the channel on a little late and missed some of it) and Patti allowed a fan to come up on stage and get a hug. Mo'Nique was saying how impressed she was and how she loves Patti. Patti, wonderful woman that she is, was so touched that she had tears! Patti is the freaking WOMAN! She was so encouraging! And she had brought Mo'Nique a gift! Ms. Labelle is IT! Then, I was watching the tribute to her on UPN. Uh...besides the fact that she had a "pound of Vaseline" on her legs--according to my mother--Patti looks phenomena...
