The Da Vinci Code

At the suggestion of my friend Alyson, I borrowed the Da Vinci Code (by Dan Brown) from the library. I admittedly didn't know anything about it, except that some Christians were basically trying to ban it and stop the movie from being made. Having read it, I can understand why some would want to do that (I think that's a little extreme but I can at least understand)...BUT the book was fantastic! It was one of the best books I've ever read in my entire life. Plus, it made me want to change jobs and become a cryptanalyst!! (I'm really thinking about that now.) I was figuring out some of the passwords and stuff. I won't say what it's about but I will suggest that EVERYONE read it. (oh yes, it's 426 pages. or something like that. at least the hardback one is, but don't let that stop you!!)

I thought I had more to say, but I forgot...Oh yes, this Saturday, if it crosses your mind and you are a person who prays, please pray for me this Saturday. I'll be walking in the Race for the Cure. (The walking portion starts at 8:30.) It's only 3.1 miles, but still. I know I'll be fine and will finish and all of that. I don't expect to win any "first across the finish line" prizes, but... I'm more worried about how tired I'll be later in the day! And if you want to give a donation to the Susan G Komen foundation...please feel free to contact me!

A friend of mine told me that the movie is being filmed (or about to be) with Tom Hanks. I can't wait!

I totally enjoyed the book too. I can understand why some Christians don't like some of the implications it makes, but anyone who would be led astray by what it claims clearly doesn't understand what fiction is and they aren't very well grounded in the Word, you know? Just my 2 cents...

That's exactly how I felt, Kim! I know the Word and the book is fiction. Even if there are people who think what this book says, that's them and it doesn't change MY faith one bit! Anyway, how is Ms Dahlia?
