Here we go again!!

Taco has laid another egg! This time my brother was around to intercept it and created a little nest for the egg! Hopefully, this one will hatch! But of course, that then means we've got to find a home for the new baby! Either way, we are excited again!! And my mom is calling herself a great grandmother again!!

I just want to prepare you and your family for what may be another disappointment. Perhaps the kind of turtle Taco is may lay eggs regularly, however, none of them will be fertilized, similar to hens. Hens lay eggs every so often, sort of the chicken’s equivalent to a menstrual cycle. The hen obviously has to copulate with a rooster for the egg to be fertilized, however an egg will come out fertilized or not.

I am assuming that there is only one turtle and no pre-material turtle-love going on under your mother’s roof. Which means that this and future eggs are likely unfertilized. But I may be wrong. If so, good luck on the new addition to your family.

Well, I read that turtles can "keep" or "store" sperm for up to 3 years (or perhaps 2) but either way, you were right. This one won't hatch either. Oh well! Either way it makes me sad b/c Taco looks SO tired after she lays an egg!

Bright as a highliter!! Really?

Warning: the following post is about tinkle aka urine! If you care not to know about this part of my life, please exit this blog now! (Or read a few other posts!) OK, now that I've given the warning...I have a question: Is anyone else UTTERLY DISTURBED by the fact that vitamins cause your tinkle (calling it "pee" seemed so juvenile in writing, although that is TOTALLY what I call it in "real life!") to be FLUORESCENT? I mean...honestly, I'm sure that if I took my vitamins later in the day and I went to the bathroom at night, then I'd probably NOT need to turn the light on. I'm rather bothered by the fact that something that is supposed to supplement and help my body causes another bodily function to alter, for lack of a better way to say it, in such a way! Rhetorical?

Just had a random thought I had as I called Five Guys to get the price of a "little cheeseburger". When you call a place like Five Guys or Pizza Hut or anywhere that is a business that accepts calls from customers, when they say "can you please hold?" is it actually a rhetorical question? or better yet, is it actually a demand posed as a polite question...which is just "polite" for "I have something else to do right now so I can't talk to you, so HOLD! If you don't like it, TOUGH!! At least we 'asked'?" Because think about it, when the voice on the other end of the phone asked me if I would please hold...what were my options? I could have said, "No! I won't hold! " but where would that have gotten me? Would she have actually stopped ringing up people in my ear and heard my question? I highly doubt it!
